Osijek Coach Expressed His Happiness with the Team’s Performance

During the press conference, Zoran Zekic lauded Osijek’s performance. The scores were satisfactory and Zekic was lamenting the missed opportunity to claim the 2 extra points.

“I think that I can now congratulate everyone for a truly great match. It had everything: good opportunities, beautiful scores and the odd mistake. Everything we had planed was executed, at least 90% of it. We were bold and direct and had a good idea what to do on the pitch. I don’t want to sound arrogant, but the time has come for us to regularly win these kinds of matches”, Zekic elaborated.

Missed Chances

Osijek truly showed up great, which was evident by the vast number of chances in comparison to the opponents.

 

 

“We could’ve had better answers in some situations, not only in the ones that were guaranteed to be a score, but also those that required more finesse in the execution part. However, generally speaking, I can say that I’m content, primarily because I loved the playstyle of my boys. It encourages me to do better next time. We have many new faces on the pitch and some of them got used a bit faster than the others, but I hope everyone will be at the same level soon”, Zekic said.

 

There were talks about Osijek being denied a penalty kick. “I wouldn’t comment the ref’s decisions”, Zekic said.
