Experienced Ukrainian comes from Puskas ranks and plays wing positions

The experienced 27-year old offensive player, Dmytro Lopa, signed a 1-year contract with NK Osijek, in reality being borrowed from Puskas Academy, Hungary. Previously having played for Dnjipro, Kryvbas, Karpaty, Metalurg Zaporozje and Metalist from Kharkiva, he trained with Osijek for long time already, only to be greenlighted for entrance into the club.

“It’s no secret that we cooperate wonderfully with Puskas academy from Hungary, among other things being on good terms with the owner. We are happy to have signed Dmytro since he is a reliable and experienced player. I was personally intrigued by him in the best Ukrainian teams, Dynamo Kiev and Sahtar, having gained valuable information and good training feedback. He had certain issues regarding an injury, so he couldn’t have given it his all at Gradski Vrt, but I hope that he will aid in realizing bracket ambitions of our first-leaguer. With him, we will gain additional breath in terms of offensive actions, especially at the flanks, but that is up to the coach and his own decision-making” Said sports director Alen Petrovic.

Fits right into a high-quality and ambition-driven team

Lopa is content to have been granted the chance to play for Osijek, because he, in his own words, regards Croatian football: “I have listened a lot about the Croatian championship and I was interested how things go here and I am happy to have been placed in such a good, ambition-driven team. I have been received quite well and I see some quality synergy between teammates and I will give it my all to carve out a spot for myself. My groin injury is now a thing of the past, I feel good and am ready for play. In puskas, I played as an attacking midfielder and right-wing for Puskash, but I will fulfill any role that will be given to me” said Lopa.
