RETFALA IS GETTING FOOTBALL FEVER

This Thursday, the beginning stages of building the Football School Camp at Pampas ensued. President Ivan Mestrovic said that the project should be done within 20 months at the most. He says: “We are realizing that which had been in the works for a long time. It will be the most sophisticated football facility in the region, not only in Croatia. The investments clock in around 8,000,000 € and the assets being secured in advance, but what's left for us is to hope that the weather conditions will be in our favor so that everything goes according to plan. We will build 9 high-level football fields, along with the infrastructure, which will change the face of the district of Retfala. It will be a new node which will attract our citizens, a new neighborhood, clean and orderly, which won’t disappear due to some individuals’ personal greed.

Mestrovic extends his thanks to the mayor again

As he thanked the mayor, Mestrovic attributes a great portion of the achievements him from the beginning, since the mayor has put a lot of effort in order to realize this great project: “Due to the effort put in by our mayor Ivan Vrkic, our Hungarian partners, I will give my self the credit of 1%, as this camp will be realized in a place that can’t possibly imagine how grand it will be in the future. Additionally, I must say that the project in its entirety comes at a time that is most inconvenient for such investments, but it also comes to a city that deserves more than this. Thank you all for witnessing this great moment, for following NK Osijek in the name of numerous kids, who are the ones receiving this camp and for whom we do this, who will receive the conditions of which their peers in Croatia could only dream of” said Mestrovic.

An Example and Inspiration for others

Vrkić responded with kind words to Mestrovic, adding that the biggest credit is due to the versatile club president, concluding that without his drive and industriousness, there wouldn’t be such a great undertaking.

“Big thanks to mr. Meszaros who became the major owner of NK Osijek due to Ivan’s efforts, but for me, this is only a job, so that I don’t credit myself with all too much. I don’t like to use big and pompous words, but I want to stress that this will truly be something great in our city. This is also a call to action for all other people who are active in Osijek, making the city a better place. The main thing is that we are creating an ideal place for children, making their environment such that they may thrive in it and keep developing. It’s additionally important because of the fact that these young people must be able to achieve success in their area of residence, achieving fame and money, not having to move out of their home country. I had the opportunity on numerous occasions to hear or read that the Football School is among the top 15 in the world, and by crafting this environment, it will be even better.”

Vrkic additionally said that Pampas and its surroundings will give Retfala a completely different look: “All of this will give Retfala a new kind of flair, especially because we had invested the least amount in this part of town. Therefore, I extend my thanks again to Ivan Mestrovic. It is certain that this part of Osijek will get a whole new dimension. All of this wouldn’t have been real without some serious investment into NK Osijek, and this is an example for all new challenges and projects in our city, not only in sports, but also, finally, in the economy.” Said the mayor.
