Club director Igor Galić is quite content with 2017 and says that Osijek delivered on every front.
NK Osijek showed its worth during 2017 and is considered the best sports collective by the Sports Community of Osijek and the Sports Community of the Osijek-Baranja County. During the festivity in the HNK, a trophy were given to chief club director Igor Galic.
It is a great honor of course, but also a great obligation. I am grateful for this acknowledgement because it is earned through our hard work. We have done much for the club during the past 2 years. The kids see it, their parents, to be more concrete, because the results of our U19 squad is delivering results, but to be mentioned are also our second team boys and all other age groups in the Football School. I hope that our results will keep improving as time goes on – said the director.
The most productive business year
Galic has experienced many great victories and beautiful moments in the past year, as have all the people in our club, the year itself being successful indeed.
It has been the best year for me, not in my entire life, but certainly in my business career. What we have done has exceeded all our expectations, where a lot of time, money and effort had been invested. We were one step away from entering the European League, but I’m nevertheless happy that the populace returned to the stadium and that Osijek’s citizens recognized what we are doing. When you play two times in fron of 15,000 spectators, all of whom are fans, one feels accomplished and I hope that this summer will be just as good, if not better than the last.
˝Great investments await us˝
It isn’t easy to achieve better results than before and more effort will need to be exerted in every segment, but the director remains optimistic:
That which awaits us are investments that are unseen in all of Croatia when it comes to sports infrastructure for the younger age groups. It will surely attract a great number of children who will surely do a certain move forward and I believe that we will be the best sports collective by next year.
