Dinamo is Undisputed, but Osijek Comes in Hot With the Will to Win.

Osijek is away team on Saturday night at 19, vying for points against Dinamo. It’s certainly a derby in the 12th series and the most interesting match this time around. Dinamo is the sole undefeated squad in 11 played matches, winning 9 and playing 2 tied, while Osijek is sharing 3rd and 4th place with Hajduk, earning 20 pts.

In that fateful summer duel at Gradski Vrt, the result was 1-1, remembered for Zekić’s new 11 being sent to the pitch, unlike the European matches that were seeing the usual faces. Grgić was Osijek’s striker, while Dinamo’s Moro equalized, that being the most realistic outcome of the game.

Points that are worth double

Even though Dinamo seems to be off lately, as the press reports, they’re still the top dog and aren’t letting go of first place.

Osijek, on the other hand, stays strong in very daring matchups, including European games. It would be great that this time, Osijek comes out as the victor and when it comes to points potentially won against top teams, they are worth double. Osijek won at Maksimir last year with a score by Knežević, while Osijek lost against Dinamo two-to-nil last year, despite the lead via Barać. Pavičić equalized for Dinamo in the second half, with a goal by Lešković immediately after, who was ironically Osijek’s player in the past.

To Score Again

Even though Osijek hasn’t been able to have a consistent game plan and to stand against their opponents, there isn’t a match in which they don’t attempt everything they can to score, and it seems that Maksimir will be no exception. Osijek scored against everyone, believing that they will do so again.

During the past championship pause, Zekić worked overtime to improve some details in the gameplay in order to surprise Dinamo, but it’s up to the players in the end. Optimism and good mood is definitely present, so that we hope for a quality time as we will cheer for Osijek. In any case, results will be delivered.
