Dreams become a reality! NK Osijek will receive a new stadium come 2020, maybe even at the end of 2019! It will be located at Pampas, where the future Football Academy will be built as well. The biggest sports infrastructure project in Slavonia and Baranja was presented in the cinema Urania in front of a large number of club sponsor representatives, partners, guests and journalist and definitely sparked the interest of fans and “laypeople” alike.

 

The Revitalization of Pampas

We will be able to talk about Pampas as a new city district in the near future, as well as a new square to converge in as that part of the city will be revitalized. The stadium will undoubtedly be a catalyst for the development of that part of the city into a sprawling sports center.

Covering a total area of around 37 acres, a new urban center will be made along the Drava river, with plans of expanding the “Promenada” in the works, too.

 

We stopped dreaming and started living the dream. The value of the project is estimated to be 35 mil euros provided by NK Osijek. I want the stadium to be full of life 365 days a year and because of that, we opted for Pampas, among other things. Additional reasons for Pampas would be the fact that it’s in the heart of public transit and due to the fact that it’s better than the other locations we thought about. It’s clear that many new jobs will be created due to that, with NK Osijek currently employing 120 people, but I believe that that number will increase by 50%, said the  president and co-owner of NK Osijek, Ivan Mestrovic.

 

No one in Croatia has ever Attempted such a Laborious Endeavor!

Concerning the building of the future complex, it’s realistic to expect that local companies will be given the task to build it, which was emphasized by Mestrovic in earlier interviews and is expected of him by now

It will be built by those who satisfy the application criteria we need, but it’s a fact that all that has been created up until now is due to Osijek’s community and made by Osijek citizens’ hands. This concerns also the club administration, the stadium and academy camp plans. Besides that, the stadium will be in the citizens’ service, a symbol and something to be proud of, something to be shown off to guests and tourists who come to Osijek.

Journalists asked the president if such infrastructural undertakings mean that the national champion title will be awarded in Osijek’s new stadium.

It’s harder to build the Academy complex and the stadium than it is to win the Cup, which has been proven in Croatia by now. The titles are won by a handful of teams and a project of this kind hasn’t been done yet. No one would be happier than us if we won the Cup title!

 

An Impressive and Inspiring Design

 

 

Within the construction plans, new access roads will be built, with the connection to the main city roads and suburb roads being imperative. Pedestrian access will be built as well. For those who plan to come via automobile, 750 park spots are projected, with 150 additional VIP spots. We especially accentuate and put emphasis on the impressive, recognizable and inspiring architecture. The stadium will be covered and built according to the highest UEFA standards. The entrance will be at field level, one which will surely impress football fans! It’s understandable that the highest security standrads will be met, as will spots for the disabled. The stadium dimensions will be 188x150 meters and the highest point will reach 22,5 meters.

Such luxury is to be enjoyed at the new stadium, with many entrance points into the area right at the stadium, drastically improving the viewing experience. 12,000 seats are quite a number, the seats being comfortable as well. The object sporting those luxuries will also have a champagne lounge within the VIP tribune, along with a spa house, 70 disabled seats and 100 Sky box seats. With regards to more content, a new fan shop will be opened, restaurants and the Sky promenade with refreshments, fan-corners for uninterrupted viewing and socialization.

 

A Node of Good Vibes

 

Everything will be family friendly, a good idea being to come watch the game with friends, family, children and the seniors. The same holds for people of different professions, etc. It will be a sports city in which diverse people will converge, so we can safely say that there will be good vibes. Concerning the Academy, 7 fields will be built, 2 of which are heated and 2 with artificial grass, so that all those who will train there will be provided with state-of-the-art work conditions. We stopped dreaming, as mentioned many times over, and started living the dream. We earned it!
