The best footballer Osijek ever produced has given our veteran secretary ample presents and wished her a happy retirement.
The best footballer in Osijek’s history made an appearance past Tuesday at Gradski Vrt, the acclaimed center-forward Davor Suker, the current president of the HNS.
The motivation and reason of his arriving on this occasion would be his meeting the veteran club secretary Marija Dumancic, who will soon enjoy her hard-earned retirement. She spent 40 years in our club’s offices, which Suker knows well, so that he arrived to his old club quarters with ample gifts.
Jersey “9” and Patria Croatica Set Gifted
The Golden Shoe from ’98 in France awarded Mrs. Marija the latest jersey of the Croatian national team with the number 9, which used to be Suker’s number, while additionally buying her a pricey souvenir, namely the Patria Croatica, a chess set with a Croatian historical twist, the figures being made by the academic sculptor Hrvoje Urumovic.
The figures are made of metal, with a finishing layer of old silver and copper, representing historical figures of the homeland and significant locations and events in Croatian history.
