Gabrijel Boban is the winner of this year’s Kohorta award for most passionate player in NK Osijek. In the name of Kohorta, Boban was granted the award before the match against Cibalija by Kohorta president Ivan Kracun and Gordon El-Ayedi. The fans stated the following: “Boban deserves the award by virtue of his work ethic, evident not only in his statistical success, but also in his team play and the aura of power he radiates. His prowess is shown through dealing with life’s hardships, in which we stood by his side. Gabrijel Boban is a player whose spirit inspires everyone. Gabrijel, you are an inspiration to all on the pitch and to all on the tribunes. Thanks, lega!
Gabrijel thanks the Fans
Boban couldn’t attend the El Slavonico due to an injury. He received the acknowledgment proudly, however, despite the injury. He said: “I haven’t had that the honor of realizing that I got the award until 15 minutes before match start. When the fans deem you the best, then you have to feel proud and contentment. Big thanks go out to them because they recognized the work I put into being my best version on the pitch. Additionally, I thank Kohorta for supporting me and my family in our darkest days. We had many beautiful moments during the season and the atmosphere on the tribunes stood testament to that. If you ask me – I’ll keep giving it my all. This award is an additional motive to keep pushing my limits.”
