The Young Players of Osijek and Hajduk played a tie (0-0), with the boys from Split being better during shootouts.
Osijek’s U-17 haven’t been able to earn the Croatia Cup trophy yet. In the final duel played at Ivankovo against Hajduk, Tomislav Steinbruckner’s chosen were defeated during penalty shootous, the score being 3-5.
Previously, the result had been 0-0 during the first 80 minutes and a commendation goes out to Osijek for their fighting spirit and great dedication. Osijek managed to defend their goal successfully, but Hajduk sadly took home the win during penalty shootouts.

Held their own up until Penalties
Hajduk showed dominance and took the initiative from minute one. The attempts by Šarić (min. 12&34) and Jenjić (min. 24) weren’t good and precise enough to change the scoreboard, while Osijek had Vinogradac, who threatened Hajduk from afar, but alas, Hajduk’s goalkeeper stood his ground. Brnić, Hajduk’s player, missed a chance at the very end of the first half.
Brnić again made Osijek’s ranks shake at the start of the second half, with Vušković’s s vicious shot being barely stopped by Dubrović, the ball having been diverted into the post. Osijek had had their chance 5 minutes later, but Branšteter wasn’t able to control the ball as he penetrated Hajduk’s goal defence.

Miss from 11m Decides the Outcome
