Osijek made noble efforts during the entire match, so that the triumph was a brilliant 3-0.

The joy in Osijek’s HQ was self-evident, due to the boys destroying St. Johnstone in Bischofshofen.  Osijek looked strong and centered from start to finish.

Someone will attempt to present the case that the Scots wasn’t a team to be afraid of, which turned out to be correct.

Boban was Indomitable

Osijek scored for a lead in the 24th minute with a magnificent goal by Barisic during a 20-meter free kick, with 4-5 additional attempts in which our boys contested the Scotsmen. Boban dominated, however, conquering the left side of the pitch, where his teammates backed his efforts.

After some missed opportunities and an annulled goal by Loncar, Boban scored in the finishing part of the first half for 2-0. Since St. Johnstone threatened Malenica only once, the stage was set for the second half. Osijek’s backline is to be lauded because they didn’t let the “Saints” close to the gate.

Everyone was at it

A similar picture was painted during the second half, with Zekic switching things up a bit with some substitutions. Pusic played well and Pervan really showing up good, as well as Strkalj. Henty played 4-D chess with the Saints, assisting his teammates in the penalty area multiple times and himself having let loose on a few occasions.

Lopa finished them off with a goal in the end.
