Footballers, Handballers, Gymnasts, Extreme Sportsmen and women and all others – they love Osijek
Everyone talks about Osijek, the sports capital of Slavonia. We were the hosts of several national teams in various sports: football, handball, etc. Gradski Vrt was teeming with Croat fans!
All seats were taken during the match between Croatia and Senegal, with a similar situation a day later in the sports hall, where our handballers played the qualifier match against Montenegro. Osijek and its citizens received praises for the events they organized.
Good Vibes
It is not surprising when Modric, Rakitic, Corluka and coach Dalic praise the atmosphere in Gradski Vrt. Even Horvat, Cindric, Strlek and coach Lino Cervar praised the fans! It is normal to us when the players praise the fans that support them during games, especially during national matches. Slavonia is patriotic, positive and enjoyable for everyone, being a great host to its national teams. We don’t want to be compared to anyone, but we do know that we differ greatly from other parts of Croatia and that we enjoy our national players’ support.
Admirable Organization
Not only are we desirable hosts, but also high-quality organizers. Be it football or handbal or anything else, everything was exemplary. A very special event was certainly the Pannonian Challenge – an established extreme sports festival on the left bank of Drava. It attracted a great many people whose adrenaline glands craved the rush, where the organizing team deserves commendations.
The World Gymnastics Cup is getting better and better each year, so that praises come from everywhere. To sum it up, money isn’t everything, for the burning desire to give a good show tops money. Osijek is full of driven and passionate people who breathe sports and thus Osijek will remain the capital of sports in this region.
