The young Bosnia-Herzegovina player arrives from German Eintracht
On the last day of the transitional period, NK Osijek signs 20-year-old Marijan Cavar, the young and prospective U-21 Bosnia-Herzegovina player, arriving on a 1-year loan from Eintracht Frankfurt. However, Osijek will have the ability to buy him fully.
We can safely say that Osijek will get a reliable midfielder that already has high-profile games under his belt, especially after having been coached by Robert Prosinecki in Bosnia-Herzegovina. During last Winter, he played on the national team, playing a tie against the USA team in Los Angeles and being defeated by Mexico.
Sliskovic sent him into the fray
Cavar’s career began in Branitelj, Mostar, garnering the attention when he transferred to Zrinjski, the arguably best club in Bosnia-Herzegovina. His potential was recognized by Blaz Sliskovic when Cavar was only 19 years old. His true potential was unlocked during the Fall half-season 2017 when Cavar became a standard midfielder for the club. His good ballplay in Zrinjski garnered a lot of attention by local clubs, but the German Eintracht caught on to him, signing him and bringing him into the fold in Commerzbank Arena.
First Debut vs. Bayern Munich
Cavar couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful introduction to the Bundesliga. Towards the end of April, Niko Kovac sent him on the pitch in Allianz Arena in front of 70,000 spectators to play the final 30 minutes of the match. It was surely a difficult debut for the young player, even though he was hungry for more playtime. We know that Kovac became the new manager of Bayern Munich this Summer and Marijan gauged that finding a new team is in his best interest. Osijek reacted quickly and persuaded him to come on loan. His favored position is in the backline of the midfield and he has 7 played matches for Eintracht under his belt, scoring twice.
