MAKE THE CLUB SELF-SUFFICIENT

According to information that broke on various media, NK Osijek may sell yet another prospective player off. To ward off baseless assertions, Ivan Mestrovic commented on the matter: “Osijek will sell off players, but not because we need to. We will do it because we want to, primarily to promote NK Osijek as a prospective “breeding ground” for strong players, which are always looked for by larger clubs.”

NK Osijek outlives us all

The club president has always had a vision in all aspects of the team.

“Come tomorrow, there won’t be a Meszaros or myself to run things, but NK Osijek will prevail. And NK Osijek will be better than ever before and that’s my responsibility. We are paying close attention as to which players we transfer out. Our attitude is one of keeping the price above a million Euros for each individual player. Additionally, we hold the belief that we want to primarily sell players to European clubs (West)” Mestrovic explained.

Transfer Prices on the Rise

Mestrovic commented on the fact that our players’ prices keep rising, thereby increasing the income of the club.
“1,2,3 million Euros – those are the general prices for our players right now, and the customers keep coming back. All of them know that there’s this one club in eastern Croatia that consistently provides excellent players. Except for Dinamo, I believe that we have the best possible approach to selling off our players” Mestrovic elaborated.



The Right Way to Go

Mestrovic added another curious piece of information:

“We are still hungry for more, don’t get it twisted. We must be responsible with the transfers. WE want to create a sustainable and self-sufficient NK Osijek not because I got tired, but because it’s the only right way to go forward if we want a stable and affluent European Club. Trust me, everything is focused on the future, the short-term and the long-term.”
