Our Mexican striker quickly won over the NK Osijek supporters, not only with his goals but also with his commitment on the pitch.
Mexican striker Armando Leon quickly established himself as a regular in the White and Blues’ first team. Although he initially arrived at NK Osijek on trial this summer, he showed how valuable he could be to the team through his performances in friendly matches and then in competitive fixtures. With his tangible contribution as well as his tremendous work rate, he has not only lived up to expectations but also earned a contract extension in a very short period of time. His initial one-year deal has now been doubled, with Leon committing his future to Osijek until the end of June 2028.
I’m very happy here in Osijek and I think that shows from match to match. I give everything I have for the team and to help us achieve the best possible results. I was patient and waited for all of this, and now I can say that I never imagined the reward would come so quickly. Above all, I want to help the team and contribute with as many goals as possible, as well as with my fighting spirit on the pitch. And when I’m not scoring goals, I’ll certainly do everything I can to contribute in some other way.
“Everyone Has Welcomed Me Brilliantly”
He always believed in himself and hoped that his honest approach and hard work would earn him a place in our team.
I improved day by day and was highly motivated to stay here because everyone really welcomed me brilliantly. I think I had a good pre-season, I worked as hard as I could and earned their trust.
In his seven HNL appearances so far, he has found the back of the net five times and also provided one assist.
Not bad, I have to admit. I’ve managed to score in three matches, which is important for every striker. I’m very happy about that. Every goal was different in some way from the previous ones, which I’m also pleased about. I’m enjoying my football, the team suits me perfectly, the coach is excellent and I can say that it’s a great feeling to score for Osijek!
Determined to Repay the Supporters

I can feel the affection the supporters have for me. As soon as I played my first match for Osijek, people started approaching me around the city with kind and encouraging words. Now it’s even more noticeable. I want to thank everyone for such a warm welcome. I want to repay them with my commitment on the pitch and, of course, with goals. The team is always the most important thing and I believe we will continue playing as well as we have been.
NK Osijek’s sporting department also reacted quickly, with the Sporting Director ready to secure Leon’s future at the Club.
