Nogometaši Osijeka odradili su drugu pripremnu utakmicu u sklopu ljetnih priprema, ovoga puta protiv azerbajdžanskog prvoligaša Neftçija, a stručni stožer ponovno je iskoristio susret kako bi rasporedio minutažu i provjerio različite kombinacije uoči početka nove sezone.

Bijelo-plavi su od početka nastojali nametnuti svoj ritam igre kroz visok pritisak i kontrolu posjeda. Prvu priliku imao je Omerović, dok je na drugoj strani Malenica odličnom intervencijom zaustavio opasan pokušaj protivnika.

U nastavku prvoga dijela Osijek je nekoliko puta ozbiljno zaprijetio. Nakon slobodnog udarca i kornera Nike Farkaša te akcija koje su kreirali Omerović, Bukvić i Mustafić, stvoreno je nekoliko vrlo dobrih prilika, no pogodak je izostao. Najbliže je bio Jelenić, čiji je udarac nakon kornera završio na okviru vrata.

Drugo poluvrijeme donijelo je očekivane promjene u sastavu kako bi priliku dobio što veći broj igrača. Unatoč nešto otvorenijoj igri s obje strane, Bijelo-plavi nastavili su tražiti rješenja u napadu, a nagrada je stigla nakon lijepe akcije u kojoj je Dolček povratnom loptom pronašao Ljatifija, koji je udarcem glavom poslao loptu u mrežu.

Do kraja susreta Dolček je još jednom zaprijetio udarcem iz daljine, dok je Ćurčija odličnom obranom sačuvao svoju mrežu nakon opasnog slobodnog udarca protivnika.

Protiv kvalitetnog suparnika koji se priprema za europske izazove Bijelo-plavi su pokazali niz pozitivnih segmenata igre, uz dobru energiju, organiziranost i vrijedne minute za velik broj igrača.

Pripremne utakmice i dalje prvenstveno služe uigravanju momčadi i podizanju natjecateljskog ritma, a stručni stožer nastavlja graditi željeni model igre uoči službenih izazova koji slijede.
