Tjedne napornog rada i priprema tijekom kojih smo stvarali i uigravali novu momčad, ostavljamo iza sebe. Ušli smo u natjecateljski ritam treninga uoči službenog početka nove sezone koji nas očekuje predstojećeg vikenda. Momčad Osijeka svoju će prvu utakmicu u borbi za prvenstvene bodove odigrati u subotu, 1. kolovoza, u gostima kod Gorice s početkom u 21 sat. Znamo da  je bilo dosta promjena u igračkom kadru, priliku su kroz kontrolne dvoboje dobili brojni mladi igrači od kojih je većina iz naše Škole nogometa, a kroz proteklo razdoblje gradilo se zajedništvo i prepoznatljiv način igre. Svi u Klubu, a naravno i navijači Bijelo-plavih, sada nestrpljivo čekaju nadolazeće izazove jer svaka nova sezona donosi neku novu energiju, nove izazove, kao i novu mogućnost dokazivanja.

Jasno je da nas očekuje 90 i nešto više zahtjevnih minuta protiv našeg subotnjeg domaćina, ali i prva prilika da sve pozitivne stvari pretočimo u ono što sada postaje najvažnije, dakle u sportsku borbu za svaki bod na terenu. Motiva ni ovaj puta ne nedostaje, želje i odlučnosti također da bismo sezonu otvorili na zadovoljstvo svih onih koji su srcem uz NK Osijek. Uzdamo se u ono što smo do sada odradili, u potencijal (n)ove momčadi i energiju koju osjećamo od prvog okupljanja. Također i u samopouzdanje, vjeru u započeti proces, smjer u kojem idemo i želju za napretkom. U tom se kontekstu naša momčad želi predstaviti i na prvom ovosezonskom gostovanju, vjerujući kako ćemo već od starta u Velikoj Gorici imati i značajnu navijačku podršku naše Kohorte. Dečki na terenu nastojat će se prvenstveno odužiti borbenošću i pristupom, što je uvijek jedan od bitnih preduvjeta da bi i ishod utakmice bio pozitivan.

We open the competition season with a Saturday away game in Velika Gorica (9pm).

We are leaving behind the weeks of hard work and preparation during which we created and trained a new team. We have entered the competitive rhythm of training ahead of the official start of the new season, which awaits us this coming weekend. The Osijek team will play its first match in the fight for championship points on Saturday, August 1, away to Gorica, starting at 9pm. We know that there have been many changes in the playing staff, many young players, most of whom are from our Football School, were given the opportunity through control matches, and over the past period, unity and a recognizable style of play have been built. Everyone in the Club, and of course the White and Blue fans, are now impatiently awaiting the upcoming challenges because every new season brings new energy, new challenges, as well as a new opportunity to prove themselves.

It is clear that we are waiting for 90 or so demanding minutes against our Saturday host, but also the first opportunity to translate all the positive things into what is now becoming the most important thing, namely a sporting fight for every point on the field. There is no shortage of motivation this time either, the desire and determination to open the season to the satisfaction of all those who are with NK Osijek at heart. We rely on what we have done so far, on the potential of this (new) team and the energy we have felt since the first gathering. Also on self-confidence, faith in the process we have started, the direction we are going in and the desire for progress. In this context, our team wants to present itself at its first away game of the season, believing that we will have significant fan support from our Cohort from the start in Velika Gorica. The guys on the field will primarily try to repay the favor with fighting spirit and approach, which is always one of the important prerequisites for a positive outcome of the match.
