Another season of NK Osijek's Open Football School has begun.

The NK Osijek Open Football School programme is designed to introduce children to football through fun, play-based activities and professionally led training sessions, without the pressure of results. In a safe and encouraging environment, children develop their motor skills, learn the fundamentals of football and build healthy sporting habits.

Training Schedule and Registration

The programme runs from 3 August to 20 December, with training sessions held every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 PM at the Opus Arena Training Camp. Registration remains open throughout the entire programme.

Training sessions are led by NK Osijek Academy coaches Pavo Grgić, Mario Mijatović, Toni Kačunić, Silvijo Ježić, Tomislav Šorša and Karla Šimunec-Prlić.

Parents can register their child at the Football School Office or simply arrive a little before training and complete the registration form on site. Participants should enter through the north-west entrance of the stadium. Children are advised to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of training, wearing appropriate sports clothing and footwear. The coaches will welcome them and escort them to the changing rooms.

What Can Children Expect?

The programme focuses on developing coordination and motor skills, learning the basic technical elements of football and embracing sporting values such as discipline, teamwork, mutual respect and responsibility. Every child progresses at their own pace through play and social interaction, with the aim of fostering a love for sport and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

A Pathway to the Academy

Throughout the programme, the coaches may identify children who show exceptional interest or talent and, if they believe they are ready, recommend them for the competitive teams of the NK Osijek Academy.

The primary goal of the Open Football School remains to give every child a positive first experience of organised football while providing an environment in which they can learn, grow and enjoy the game.
